The Electronic Instrumentation Technician will test and calibrate electrical, mechanical, electromechanical and electronic measuring, recording and indicating instruments and equipment for conformance to establish standards and assist in formulating calibration standards. The role also involves adhering to environmental policy, procedures and supporting department environmental objectives.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Technical Degree in Industrial Instrumentation, Electronics or another related field and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in calibration/instrumentation is required; or a Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field such as Industrial Instrumentation, Electronics, or another related field and one (1) year of experience in calibration/instrumentation is required.
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) fluency is required.
  • Availability to work overtime, various work schedules, which include 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts, including weekends and holidays is required.

Responsibilities

  • Plans sequence of testing and calibration procedures for instruments and equipment.
  • Coordinates calibration schedules with equipment owners.
  • Develops and updates calibration procedures for equipment and instruments to be included in the calibration program.
  • Sets up standard and special purpose laboratory equipment to test, evaluate and calibrate other instruments and test equipment.
  • Disassembles instruments and equipment, using hand-tools and inspects components for defects.
  • Measures parts for conformity with specifications, using micrometers, calipers and other precision instruments.
  • Aligns and balances component parts and circuitry.
  • Keeps the calibration eCMMS system updated regarding instruments status and technical data requirements.
  • Responsible for files and records all calibration records.
  • Assists in formulating test, calibration, repair, and evaluation plans, and procedures to maintain precision accuracy of measuring, recording and indicating instruments and equipment.
  • Performs equipment performance profiles, i.e. temperature profiles and generates reports.
  • Ensures proper utilization of eCMMS system for calibration work orders execution and complete.
