About The Position

CACI is seeking a Technical Writer to work onsite in Dahlgren, Virginia. Applicants with current/active Secret-level clearance highly desired! Responsibilities: Provide support to the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD), specifically the Systems Security Engineering Branch of the Naval Computing & Cyber Engineering Systems Division of the Strategic & Computing Systems Department Author technical documentation in support of a new program of record for the US Navy Interface with Technical Project Leads (TPLs) and software engineers Create technical documentation for new computing systems, including requirements documents, design documents, user manuals, maintenance manuals, and other relevant technical documentation Author and/or contribute to the development of programmatic documentation and presentation materials What You Can Expect: A culture of integrity. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) Degree in English or four (4) years of related experience performing technical writing
  • Alternately, a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or similar STEM discipline coupled with technical writing experience
  • Research, create and maintain technical documentation, briefing materials, manuals, and other program-required documentation
  • 5+ years of related work experience
  • Strong writing, researching, and content creating skills
  • Ability to understand and explain complex technical information
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and documentation tools (e.g., MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Adobe FrameMaker, etc.)
  • Familiarity with markup languages (e.g., HTML, XML)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Need to have the ability to obtain and maintain, at minimum, a Secret Level Security Clearance. Active Secret Security Clearance is a plus
  • Must be a U.S. citizen. (US Citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance from the DoD)

  • Working knowledge of Navy Combat/Weapon Systems.
