About The Position

Infosys Public Services is seeking a Technical Writer to join our team. Position Description (scope of work or brief narrative): The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating, editing, and finalizing a wide range of technical documentation, including hardware and software specifications, business rules, design documents, testing protocols, installation guides, user manuals, and system administration documentation. This role requires a strong understanding of the products being documented and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly content. The candidate should also be comfortable using screenshots and visual aids to enhance documentation clarity.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Technical Writer in a technology-driven environment.
• 5+ years of proven experience in writing accurate technical documentation
• Strong understanding of technical concepts and ability to simplify complex information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality documentation.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for hardware, software, business processes, and system configurations.
• Finalize and standardize documentation across various stages including design, testing, installation, and administration.
• Edit and proofread content created by other technical writers to ensure consistency, accuracy, and adherence to style guidelines.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, QA teams, and other stakeholders to gather information and validate documentation.
• Ensure documentation meets quality standards and complies with internal and external requirements.
• Use visual elements such as screenshots and diagrams to support written content and improve user comprehension.
• Maintain version control and manage updates to documentation as products evolve.
