About The Position

The End User Documentation (EUD) Technical Writer is responsible for producing and maintaining SubCom customer-facing documents such as System Operations & Maintenance documents and product-specific Training Manuals. These documents are written to ensure safe and reliable use of SubCom-provided equipment and to meet contractually-required customer requirements.

Requirements

Strong verbal and written Communication Skills are a must to interact efficiently with highly technical engineers and software developers.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite Programs, with a general understanding of basic graphics programs such as Adobe Illustrator and MS Visio.
Familiarity with or interest in the use of AI tools to generate and update content.
Work effectively in a team atmosphere as well as function independently with confidence.
Minimum 3 years of experience in the professional technical writing field, or a technical background with demonstrated writing proficiency.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain EUD and on-line help via review of product requirements and interaction with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
Use multiple documentation development software products, and maintain SubCom established styles, guidelines and desktop publishing processes.
Create support graphics in multiple formats for inclusion within documents.
