About The Position

A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc., (AMT) an employee owned consultant engineering firm, Engineering News Record Top 500 firm and a Zweig White Hot Firm, provides multidisciplinary services including engineering, environmental, landscape architecture, surveying and construction administration and inspection. AMT is growing and is seeking seeking a highly motivated Technical Writer to join our growing Team in the Richmond, VA office. The position will assist with development of policies and procedures related to the specific program and applicable systems to include quality control matters. Assist in contract analysis and contract administration with the development of requirements, contract compliance and contract improvement. Assist with the upkeep of the Product Group Catalog (PGC) and necessary approvals. Assist in implementing emergency operation administration through policies, procedures, contracts, and applications both internal and external.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Contract Administrative and Contract management managing multiple contracts.
  • Knowledge of Virginia procurement policies, practices and regulations.
  • Ability to independently research, interpret, implement and monitor policies and programs that aid in the delivery and continuous improvement of the maintenance program.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work on and complete multiple assignments to meet established timelines within budget constraints.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to conduct analytical analysis including use of statistical principles on complex issues and develop analytical reports for a wide range of audiences.
  • Skill in the use of computers and software applications.
  • Functional and technical knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, and Outlook) and Google applications at a high level of accomplishment.
  • Ability to create a Pivot-table in MS Excel with data from various Databases and manipulate that data to create summaries and analysis reports.
  • Experience in analyzing data and database management.
  • Knowledge of Highway Transportation policies and procedures.
  • Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Transportation or related field. Equivalent training/education may substitute for a degree.
