About The Position

As a Technical Writer, the candidate serves as the professional information and artifact creator and communicator, responsible for conveying information through the medium that best supports comprehension and understanding. In this role, the Technical Writer will research, create and deliver information across a variety of delivery media.

Requirements

  • Must have an active secret clearance or higher.
  • Associate’s degree or five years or more experience.
  • Demonstrated experience producing technical writing, including instruction manuals, proposals, reports, posters and visual communication, technical descriptions, product recalls, and white papers.
  • Detail oriented, with the ability to produce written materials free of grammatical, spelling, formatting and other editing errors.
  • Ability to identify issues, evaluate options and implement effective solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to plan work with consideration of future requirements and established objectives.
  • Results oriented, with the ability to meet assigned objectives, quality standards and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare instruction manuals, SOPs, TTPs, how-to guides, journal articles, and other supporting artifacts to communicate complex and technical information.
  • Translate and format details that computer professionals wish to communicate into simple written language for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collect information and prepares daily, weekly, and monthly status reports.
  • Interface with all functional areas, staff, leaders and/or other partners to ensure quality final documentation and contract deliverables; obtains approval for final documents to ensure they are usable and meet quality standards.
  • Participate in process improvement sessions to capture steps, develop, and/or update standard operating procedures (SOPs), flowcharts, processes, and procedures.
  • Maintain records and file of work and revisions; make edits to documentation, standardize the documentation and/or make changes to material prepared by other writers or program personnel.
  • Work closely with the team to curate, grow, and update a technical and procedural library of approved content.
  • Perform other tasks as required by OSC and the Government contracting office
