Job Description: The contractor shall provide technical support for the authoring of Combat Systems Capabilities and Limitations (C&L) projects for U.S. Navy and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) AEGIS Combat Systems and associated weapon systems. Specific tasks include: C&L Project Development and Documentation Review: In alignment with SOW sections 5.2 (Engineering Efforts) and 5.6.7 (technical documentation), the contractor shall author C&L projects. This includes reviewing existing technical and tactical documentation to assess its relevancy for inclusion in C&L documents. Programmatic and Process Support: In accordance with SOW section 5.8.1, the contractor shall coordinate within a team environment to define, develop, plan, and execute timelines for the successful completion of C&L projects. The contractor shall also provide insight into the development and management of technical processes, policies, and operational schedules necessary for providing C&L documentation to the fleet. Guidance on Personnel Proficiency for Successful Task Execution: To ensure successful execution of the foregoing tasks it is expected that contractor personnel possess moderate to high degree of experience and knowledge of the Aegis Weapon System (AWS).

Requirements

  • Must be legally authorized to in the United States without the need of employer sponsorship now or at any time in the future
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance level Secret
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Follows established SOPs and work instructions and strives towards continuous improvement
  • 3 or more years related experience
  • 2+ years’ experience technical writing and editing technical documentation in a military or civilian environment
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Microsoft Office (Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Access

Nice To Haves

  • Technical Manual Management processes, Certification and Accreditation (C&A) for DOD
  • Three years’ experience technical writing and editing technical manuals
  • Experience authoring/editing in Adobe FrameMaker
  • Demonstrated experience related to gathering and analyzing source material and developing relevant curricula.
  • Previous US Navy, DoD or other government publication experience highly desired
