About The Position

Technical Writer Key Role: Provide doctrine development support and oversight for cru cia l doctrinal USMC publications by researching, analyzing, defining, evaluating, and integrating Subject Matter Expert ( SME ) input. Use doctrine development documentation products and deliverables, including the integration and refinement of Assault Amphibian ( AA ) doctrine, tactics, techniques, and procedures ( TTPs ) . Serve as the lead developer, writer, and editor for AA training and operations. Evaluate combined, joint, multi-service, multinational, USMC, Naval, infantry, and AA doctrine TTPs for the validation, modification, and development of new doctrinal products. Plan, coordinate, review, and evaluate doctrinal publications developed by other services and government agencies. Coordinate with other military and government personnel and support all aspects of the doctrine development process. Design, implement, and evaluate an organization's learning courses and programs. Apply specific functional knowledge, including working or general industry knowledge. Develop or contribute to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Work independently with some guidance, and review or guide activities of more junior employees.

Requirements

  • 16+ years of experience with the USMC documentation process, capability development process, or requirements determination process
  • Knowledge of USMC AA roles, missions, capabilities, organizations, command and control, employment, and sustainment to analyze, validate, modify, write, and edit new or existing doctrine products
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as training manuals and regulations
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or organization employees
  • Ability to document training specifications and corresp ond ence
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree
