As a member of the ITI2.1 Team, you will support the men and women charged with safeguarding the American people and enhancing the Nation’s safety, security, and prosperity. CBP Officers and Border Patrol agents are on the front lines, every day, protecting our national security by combining customs, immigration, border security, and agricultural protection into one coordinated and supportive activity. The ability to be adaptable and to work constructively with a technically diverse and geographically separated team is crucial. The position will be supporting the technical writing and producing of documentation for various deployed hardware and software systems and Monitoring and Maintenance of Deployed Systems (O&M) services. The ideal candidate should be an experienced, fast-learning, organized, and productive technical writer who can adapt to an environment running a mature Scrum-based Agile software development program. The Tech Writer will embed directly within a product-oriented software team and will be responsible for all documentation requirements ensuring they are met concurrent to the development of software and/or hardware. Technical project documentation, reports, brochures, manuals and training material documentation for a wide range of uses. Iterative updates to product user manuals, including graphics, formatting, editing, and the deployment of all material to production Conform to all project standards to ensure high quality documentation Manage project team documentation repository to ensure effective file management Develop copy that adheres to best practice regarding document structure and logic flow. Excellent written and oral communications skills; must be able to interface effectively with SMEs and managers of all levels Provide regular input to ongoing team workload estimation efforts Ensure completion of all committed documentation tasks in parallel with software code development with frequent refactoring and tuning of artifacts Develop new and refine existing technical writing processes to enhance quality and productivity
