About The Position

This role offers the opportunity to play a critical part in creating, maintaining, and governing technical documentation for utility programs that are regulated and operationally complex. You will work closely with program managers, engineers, GIS specialists, and quality teams to translate technical, operational, and regulatory requirements into clear, user-friendly documentation. The position emphasizes accuracy, consistency, and compliance, while also supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Ideal candidates can manage multiple documentation tasks simultaneously, collaborate across functional teams, and contribute to program efficiency through structured and auditable documentation. You will directly impact program execution, compliance, and quality management efforts while supporting teams in a remote work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communications, English, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 4–7 years of professional technical writing experience in regulated, technical, or operational environments.
  • Strong written communication, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to quickly understand complex technical concepts and processes.
  • Experience with document management systems and version control.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, edit, and maintain procedures, work instructions, job aids, and administrative controls.
  • Translate complex technical and operational information into clear, structured documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support document control processes, including versioning, approvals, change tracking, and archival.
  • Ensure all documentation aligns with regulatory requirements, client governance standards, and internal quality systems.
  • Partner with subject matter experts to validate accuracy, completeness, and usability of documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve documentation clarity, usability, and standardization across programs.
  • Support audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives through well-structured documentation.
