About The Position

We’re looking for a skilled Technical Writer who can do more than create high‑quality documentation—you will help shape and sustain governance, reporting, and certification processes that support a highly regulated financial services environment. If you enjoy making complex processes understandable, ensuring documentation is audit‑ready, and building structured oversight frameworks, this role is a great fit. This role also plays a key part in SharePoint site design, content architecture, permissions governance, and solution support, so SharePoint experience is required.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in technical writing, communications, journalism, financial services, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of direct technical writing experience.
  • SharePoint experience, including: Site design & layout Permissions & access governance Content architecture Workflow or automation familiarity
  • Strong understanding of business applications, HTML, Information Mapping, and digital documentation best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with content management systems and/or Dreamweaver.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with JIRA (workflow oversight, project tracking)
  • Strong project management skills, especially related to documentation and governance initiatives
  • Experience developing governance frameworks, reporting structures, and certification processes
  • Background in highly regulated financial services environments
  • FINRA Series license holders encouraged, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Write, update, and maintain clear, user‑focused documentation for business processes across web‑based and digital platforms.
  • Edit and proofread content to ensure consistency, accuracy, and usability.
  • Publish and manage content within intranet, SharePoint, and other CMS tools.
  • Apply established information architecture, design standards, and editorial guidelines.
  • Partner with project teams and subject matter experts to gather information and create accurate, user‑friendly documentation.
  • Conduct audience analysis, content planning, and usability reviews.
  • Align documentation with training strategies and performance support needs.
  • Build and maintain governance structures, version control, and audit‑ready documentation processes.
  • Develop reporting, certification, and compliance tracking mechanisms for policies and procedures.
  • Use data and usability insights to continuously improve information design and governance models.
  • Participate in special projects or additional assignments as needed.
