About The Position

We are currently hiring an Information Developer 4 (Technical Writer) to support our global software client in Boise, ID. In this position you will create technical documentation, including technical manuals, service guides, and training materials through direct hands-on experience during operation, assembly and/or disassembly of various types of printer hardware. This is a full-time, long-term, 100% onsite position with a standard work week where the candidate must be local to the Boise area.

Requirements

  • 6+ years relevant experience, preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or demonstrated experience in related field is required.
  • Demonstrated experience with content management systems and HTML/XML based development systems.
  • Strong, resourceful, and innovative written communication skills.
  • Ability to understand, document, and clearly express actions necessary to operate, assemble or disassemble various types of office printing hardware.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator to create/edit photos/graphics.
  • Work independently with minimum guidance and oversight.
  • Very detail oriented.
  • Ability to learn quickly and follow complex written and oral directions.
  • Excellent business communication skills with the ability to relate well with customers and co-workers.

  • Oxygen XML authoring tool and SDL Tridion content management system (CMS) tool.

Responsibilities

  • Apply advanced subject matter knowledge to complete business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert.
  • Design and develop written and/or visual product related information utilized in printed and on-line (web-based) environments.
  • Analyze customer information requirements and product specifications to define technical content strategy and plan.
  • Builds technical documentation, service manuals, user guides, and training materials through direct hands-on experience during operation, assembly and/or disassembly of various types of printer hardware.
  • Adhere to HP standards and style documents and templates, style sheets, script, and graphic libraries to ensure common look and feel.
  • Upload and publish documentation and web content using SDL Tridion content management system (CMS).
  • Conduct quality control on all deliverables to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Leads small focus teams to resolve issues impacting content development and publishing.
  • Create/modify artwork using Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
