We are currently looking for a Technical Training Manager to be based out of Hobart, IN. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this person will manage the site’s training program and ensure effective training programs are established for all hourly associates. These programs include: production procedures and processes with an emphasis on teamwork, continuous improvement and accomplishment of safety, quality, delivery and cost goals. The ideal candidate will have at least 5-7 years of previous training experience in the metal industry with a Bachelor of Science in Operations Management or Engineering preferred. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company required.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management or Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
Technical background in maintenance, industrial or manufacturing engineering required.
Computer literate in spreadsheets and word applications and the ability to analyze reports and performance metrics.
Strong leadership and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

3+ years of previous management experience in steel manufacturing preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop, coordinate, and/or conduct job-specific and process training programs to ensure production teammates are trained on their job functions.
Provide technical writing resources to ensure accurate Work Instructions are developed and maintained for all processes.
Ensure production teammates are trained on individual job functions and training is documented.
Manage team of Training Leads assigned to various production areas of the facility.
Work closely with Operations Leadership, Manufacturing Supervisors, Maintenance Supervisors, and Engineering to ensure processes are accurate, documented, and changes are made and communicated.
