About The Position

Manage, direct and coordinate an accredited Maintenance and Technical Training organization and additional training programs to provide Maintenance and Technical positions who are trained to monitor and efficiently operate the nuclear plant within guidelines through an accredited program.

Requirements

  • 10 years’ experience associated with power production which includes the following: four years combined training and experience and four years in one of the following fields: Engineering, Radiation Protection, Chemistry, or Maintenance (Required).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or technical field (e.g. physics, chemistry) (Preferred)
  • Without the above degree, a high school diploma or GED with completion of an Engineering, Radiation Protection, Chemistry, or Maintenance training program may be considered.
  • 3 Years of previous supervisory or managerial experience. (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Manages the Maintenance and Technical Training Programs to ensure the content is technically accurate, educationally effective, and continually updated by the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) process to provide training sufficient for site personnel to perform their job functions, and to ensure programmatic adequacy to satisfy regulatory, accreditation, nuclear insurance, and site management requirements.
  • Ensures required training records are prepared, reviewed for accuracy and completeness, and forwarded for retention per procedures to attest to adequate training of personnel to perform their job functions.
  • Reports significant events to appropriate management in a factual and concise manner.
  • Remains cognizant of activities and results from applicable industry groups, industry standards, and professional society programs, as assigned by management.
  • Staff organizations with necessary qualified personnel and ensure replacement planning through rotational assignments and training.
  • Implements Company and Station policies and procedures.
  • Oversees department’s Corrective Action Program (CAP). Establishes a timeline to close open items.
  • Coordinates and chair meetings with departments, management and executive personnel.
  • Participates in the recruitment and hiring of candidates into the Operations training programs.
  • Drive SEG data building and lead Accreditation for your programs.
  • Ensures development plans are in place and followed.
  • Perform personnel activities for direct reports (promotions, salary changes, counseling, performance appraisals).
  • Prepares and delivers oral and written communications relating to work group and station activities (e.g., reports, presentations, department meetings).
  • Monitors work group reports and recommendations to assure evaluations, assessments and support are effectively developed and communicated.
  • Develops and maintains appropriate technical expertise within the work group to ensure adequate talent to perform meaningful assessments and program oversight.
  • Represents department/company on internal work teams and committees and with external entities.
  • Understands and implements company policies.
  • Knowledge of Company policies and procedures and technical specifications
  • Maintains fiscal records and procedures of the department to ensure effective and efficient operations.
  • Understands and manages to financial and budget targets. Incorporates financial analysis into strategic decisions.
  • Proactively monitors and interprets ongoing financial performance and responds strategically.
  • Incorporates financial analysis into strategic decisions and takes accountability for financial decisions within area.
  • Accept ERO position as needed.
  • Accept outage position as needed.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access.
  • Successfully complete General Employee Training (GET) as required for position.
