About The Position

Power Solutions International (PSI) is a leading manufacturer of emissions-certified powertrains specializing in customized and fully integrated turnkey solutions for the leading global equipment manufacturers in the industrial, transportation, and energy markets manufacturers. Our facilities are housed in one million square feet of engineering, assembly, operations, and distribution space across seven facilities. We are positioned to meet the high production volumes of our customers with added capacity for growth. Position Summary The Technical Trainer leads the development and delivery of training for external customers and internal employees responsible for diagnosing and repairing PSI products. This role designs, builds, updates, and delivers technical training programs that support both new and experienced learners. Training is primarily focused on spark ignition and Diesel industrial or power systems engines, controls, electrical, fuel system, theory of operation, and diagnostics.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Automotive Technology, Career and Technical Education, or a similar field preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered based on demonstrated technical and training capability
• Technical or training experience with industrial or Power Systems engines, including spark-ignited
• Strong capability in Microsoft Office with emphasis on PowerPoint, including creation of diagrams, animations, and organized technical slides
• Ability to design and communicate technical content for diverse audiences
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally

• Diesel knowledge or experience
• Strong public speaking and facilitation skills for both classroom and virtual settings
• Experience in training content development workflow and curriculum planning
• Proficiency with learning and content creation tools such as LMS platforms, Camtasia, WebEx Training Center, screen capture tools, and remote desktop tools
• Understanding of adult learning principles
• Project management skills for organizing development timelines, course releases, and cross-functional collaboration

Responsibilities

• Conduct onsite and virtual training for OEM customers/dealers, end users, and PSI employees, while delivering clear, high-quality learning experiences for live and remote audiences
• Develop training curricula for products or processes, including lesson plans, course outlines, instructor guides, participant guides, and supporting references
• Redesign and refine existing training curricula to improve clarity, accuracy, and instructional effectiveness
• Create training aids that support hands-on and classroom learning, such as annotated diagrams, presentations, job aids, checklists, simulations, animations, and short-form media
• Build professional, visually structured PowerPoint presentations that support all training programs. This includes template creation, layout, custom diagrams, and integration of media
• Produce, edit, and update training content using video, audio, screen capture, and editing tools
• Maintain training labs, equipment, consumables, schedules, records, and digital training libraries
• Travel to customer sites as needed to deliver onsite training - primarily domestic with occasional international travel (travel may be up to 30%)
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management
