About The Position

The Technical Team Lead is responsible for advanced service, troubleshooting, repair, startup, and commissioning of HVAC systems. This role serves as a technical leader in the field, providing mentorship, training, and day‑to‑day direction to apprentices and technicians while ensuring safety, quality, and customer satisfaction across assigned projects.

Requirements

  • 6–8 years of experience as a Commercial HVAC Technician
  • Strong boiler service and installation expertise
  • Working knowledge of: Boilers and burner controls, All Refrigeration systems, RTU installation, commissioning, and service, Split system AC and furnace installation, commissioning, and service
  • Proven leadership ability with a positive, team‑oriented approach
  • Strong desire and ability to train and develop others
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills
  • Valid Colorado driver’s license with an acceptable MVR
  • Current Universal EPA certification
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and physical (job‑related)

Responsibilities

  • Service, troubleshoot, repair, and commission HVAC systems, including boilers, RTUs, split systems, furnaces, and refrigeration equipment
  • Perform system diagnostics using blueprints, wiring diagrams, piping schematics, and manufacturer specifications
  • Lead, mentor, and train apprentices and less‑experienced technicians
  • Completion of Assigned daily tasks and responsibilities
  • Identify and report training needs and support skill development for team members
  • Support and conduct safety talks and reinforce company safety standards
  • Provide input for employee performance evaluations
  • Prepare service and installation work by reviewing scope, evaluating building layouts, identifying challenges, and coordinating materials and resources
  • Document all work accurately and timely through daily job paperwork and reports
  • Maintain current knowledge of manufacturer products, installation methods, service procedures, and best practices
  • Provide technical guidance to customers and internal team members
  • Participate in on‑call rotation and work overtime or weekends as business needs require
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and handbook guidelines
