We made history and now we work to transform the future – for our customers, our communities and our families. You'll see your work on the road every day, helping people move freely and pursue their dreams. At Ford, you can build more than vehicles. Come build what matters. Product Development uses design thinking & user experience methods to deliver breakthrough products and services that delight our customers. We bring innovative, exciting, and sustainable ideas to life. We have opportunities around the world for you to contribute to advancements in autonomy, electrification, smart mobility technologies, and more! The IPTSE CAE/Core department CFD section is responsible for analyzing the engine airpath, combustion, metal temperature, cooling, fuel, air intake, hot end exhaust and lubrication systems. Members of the section use various CFD methods to quantify hardware impacts on engine performance, fuel consumption, emissions, NVH, and durability to help drive the engine design and address issues that arise during the engine development process. Specific studies may include intake and exhaust port flow, secondary gas (EGR, PCV, purge) distribution, 1D3D for intake and exhaust manifold performance, exhaust manifold HTC map generation, CHT Metal temperature, in-cylinder combustion for fuel consumption and CSER emissions, fuel injector targeting, catalyst brick face utilization, UEGO sensor response, oil pan dynamics, fuel and urea tank sloshing, low pressure fuel system restriction, and air intake system restriction. In this position... Lead the development and initial validation of virtual methods to solve complex CFD and Thermal requirements (Primary focus on ICE part of IPTSE). Work with the existing CAE teams to develop an attribute/function specific CAE strategy (e.g. 5yr plan) which integrates with existing Ford CAE processes on aligned priority areas. Lead in cross-functional selection and applying tools/processes involving air flow include co-simulations and thermal analysis. Lead resolution of significant product issues involving complex system interactions identified in simulation or testing.
