About The Position

Reflection is seeking a Technical Sourcer with deep experience in identifying and engaging highly specialized technical talent, particularly within the AI/ML research domain. This role involves owning the top-of-funnel strategy for hard-to-fill positions, which includes mapping the global talent landscape, building highly targeted pipelines, and collaborating closely with recruiters and hiring managers to convert leads into successful hires. The company's mission is to build open superintelligence and make it accessible to all, developing open weight models with a team composed of AI researchers and company builders from leading institutions like DeepMind, OpenAI, Google Brain, Meta, Character.AI, and Anthropic.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of technical sourcing experience with a proven track record in AI/ML research talent acquisition.
  • Strong familiarity with research hiring cycles, publication review, and academic talent mapping.
  • Creative sourcing strategies beyond standard job boards.
  • Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter, Metaview, Juicebox, and other sourcing platforms.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with highly specialized talent.
  • Detail-oriented, metrics-driven, and comfortable working in a high-velocity startup environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead sourcing efforts for highly specialized technical talent and other niche technical roles.
  • Build and execute targeted search strategies using LinkedIn Recruiter, Metaview, Juicebox, conference attendee lists, academic publications, and open-source contributions.
  • Map research communities, track emerging talent, and identify top researchers from leading AI labs and universities.
  • Qualify candidates through initial conversations to ensure alignment on skills, experience, and research focus.
  • Maintain and nurture long-term relationships with top talent, even if not immediately available.
  • Partner with recruiters and hiring managers to refine search criteria and deliver high-quality leads.
  • Track sourcing metrics, conversion rates, and pipeline health to continuously improve efficiency and effectiveness.
