About The Position

Chalk is building the data platform that powers the future of machine learning applications. We tear down complexity, latency, and scale barriers that have traditionally constrained ML capabilities. Our platform combines Rust-speed performance with elegant tools that developers love to use. Leading companies depend on Chalk for everything from stopping fraudulent credit card swipes, diagnosing sepsis, and maximizing clean energy capture. We've recently raised a $50 million Series A, led by Felicis. Technical Sourcer will help drive top-of-funnel recruiting efforts across various organizations within the company. As a Technical Sourcer, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and attracting top-tier technical talent to help us scale and build the future of Machine Learning. You’ll partner closely with our founders, engineering leadership, and hiring managers to attract and hire top-tier talent. This is a mission-critical role: our product and engineering teams are at the heart of our growth. We're in the office 5 days a week. When unavoidable conflicts come up, we’re flexible. This is not a hybrid role.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in technical recruiting or sourcing in tech-focused environments.
  • Strong understanding of data science, software engineering, and machine learning concepts.
  • Proficiency in using various recruiting tools and platforms, including LinkedIn and applicant tracking systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with candidates and hiring teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple recruitment processes simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, engage, and recruit top technical talent for various engineering and data science roles within the company.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand role requirements and develop targeted sourcing strategies.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of candidates through proactive sourcing methods, including networking, online platforms, and industry events.
  • Conduct initial screenings and assessments to evaluate candidate skills and cultural fit.
  • Track metrics to measure the effectiveness of sourcing strategies and improve recruitment processes.
