About The Position

Allen Control Systems (ACS) is a cutting-edge defense startup founded by two former Navy electrical engineers with a proven track record in robotics and software. We are developing a small, autonomous gun turret that employs advanced computer vision and control systems to precisely target and neutralize small drones and loitering munitions. We are seeking an experienced Technical Sourcer to identify and engage highly skilled technical professionals, particularly in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Electrical Engineering, and Embedded Systems. This role requires deep technical sourcing expertise to uncover “purple unicorn” candidates who are often hard to find. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of sourcing top-tier engineers in highly specialized technical domains and thrives in a fast-paced, startup environment.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a Technical Sourcer, with a strong track record sourcing for Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Electrical, and Embedded Systems engineers.
  • Proven ability to find “purple unicorn” candidates that are difficult to reach.
  • Experience with advanced sourcing tools and techniques, including LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, Stack Overflow, Boolean search, and other databases.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple requisitions in a fast-paced, startup environment

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with defense, aerospace, or government contracting hiring is a plus.
  • Startup exposure is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively source and engage candidates for highly specialized technical roles, including Computer Vision and Machine Learning engineers, Electrical engineers, and Embedded Systems engineers.
  • Utilize advanced sourcing techniques across multiple channels including LinkedIn, GitHub, Stack Overflow, referrals, networking, and direct outreach to uncover top talent.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future technical needs.
  • Screen candidates for technical competency, cultural fit, and eligibility to work on defense-related programs.
  • Partner closely with recruiting and engineering leadership to understand technical requirements, program timelines, and strategic hiring priorities.
  • Maintain accurate candidate records and sourcing activities in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Stay informed on technical talent market trends, competitor hiring strategies, and emerging technologies.
  • Support employer branding initiatives, representing ACS at recruiting events, conferences, and online communities.
