About The Position

The Technical Service Manager leads all site I4.0 initiatives and directs the Controls Engineering team along with maintenance department (third-party contractors) supporting production equipment for Transformer Products. This role manages capital and maintenance budgets, including equipment repair costs and labor spend, and oversees facility upgrade projects from planning through execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
  • Five (5) years of work experience of facilities/maintenance
  • Five (5) years of manufacturing experience.
  • Three (3) years of experience managing people
  • Two (2) years of project management experience.

  • Strong technical expertise in electrical, mechanical, and equipment systems, including building infrastructure, with additional knowledge of structural and architectural elements.
  • Proficient in root‑cause analysis and problem‑solving methodologies to drive effective corrective actions..
  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt with demonstrated experience supporting Engineer‑to‑Order (ETO) manufacturing environments.
  • Project management experience (PROLaunch) with the ability to lead equipment, facility, or process‑related initiatives.
  • Skilled in collaborating with operations, design, and engineering teams to resolve electrical design and production issues, and adept at guiding multiple electrical contractors on equipment or installation challenges.
  • May require occasional 24/7 support to address critical equipment or plant downtime and ensure operational continuity.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with little direction and effectively operate in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance & Operations Leadership: Manage daily maintenance activities, including purchase order creation, monthly invoicing review, vendor coordination, and oversight of third‑party contractors. Ensure accurate maintenance records, effective preventive maintenance execution, and timely reporting on equipment uptime and performance. Audit all third‑party PM programs and recommend improvements to enhance OEE.
  • Budget & Spend Management: Develop and control budgets for maintenance and facilities, monitor weekly parts and service spend against the monthly plan, approve spend above established limits, and ensure invoices reflect accurate, out‑of‑scope charges.
  • Contractor & Vendor Oversight: Lead negotiation and management of 4th‑party contracts and oversee all external vendor activities related to equipment repair and abnormal maintenance. Ensure all contractors meet safety requirements and maintain current insurance documentation.
  • Facilities & Capital Projects: Serve as the primary liaison with the Eaton team to coordinate daily maintenance and facilities needs. Create a 3–5‑year facilities vision, lead capital improvement planning, and execute facility upgrade projects aligned to yearly capital forecasts.
  • Safety, Compliance & Environmental Standards: Partner with Eaton’s EHS team to ensure contractors follow MESH standards and emergency procedures. Support adherence to ISO 14001 and 9001 requirements. Promote a zero‑incident culture by identifying hazards, enforcing safety expectations, and ensuring compliance with electrical safety and quality standards.
  • Continuous Improvement & Change Management: Participate in Kaizens, BPIs, and assessment processes, occasionally serving as a category lead. Drive sustained change through ADKAR and MOC methodologies across manufacturing operations.
  • Digital & I4.0 Enablement: Advance the digital mindset by supporting facility I4.0 initiatives, including digital tier boards, autonomous robotics, AGVs, and paperless processes. Stay current on equipment, software, and maintenance advancements across TPW sites.
