Requirements

  • An independent, adaptable, and highly motivated attitude and be looking to grow within an organization that sees your potential.
  • An associate degree in a technical program OR 3 or more years of related industry work experience (i.e. internship or career experience).
  • Grasp of fundamental lab practice and instrumentation, lab and project organization, and material relationships.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with MS Office.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and investigative skills.
  • Ability to effectively multitask and drive assignments to completion.
  • Must be able to travel, as needed, to customer sites.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and perform testing of adhesives and bonded products, sealants, coatings and abrasion resistant materials.
  • Order/maintain all lab supplies including reagents, chemicals, testing substrates, and instruments tools/supplies.
  • Operate testing instruments to generate mechanical and analytical data as determined by industry standards.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and maintain all lab preventative maintenance and calibrations.
  • Work closely with other technical and non-technical functions to define testing needs and present results.
  • Follow standardized test methods (ASTM, ISO, SAE, etc.) and report data in a clear, concise format.
  • Adjust and create standard and non-standard test programs in mechanical and analytical laboratory instruments.
  • Run experiments and records data preformed on manufactured batches.
  • Answer incoming calls seeking fundamental technical advice.
  • Promote, support and adhere to all safety, environmental and quality related policies and procedures, including maintaining lab Safety Data Sheets and biweekly safety inspection audit report of the lab.
