About The Position

The Ray Copper Mine has recently implemented an Autonomous Haulage Fleet and is
in the process of ramping up performance. The Business Improvement Intern will
work with on-site operations teams to deliver sustainable value by developing
continuous improvement opportunities and initiatives.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Math, or Science.
• Strong interpersonal communication, written and verbal skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment and work effectively across all levels of the business.
• Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint applications.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience or exposure to continuous improvement preferred, but not required.
• Desire to learn and apply continuous improvement principles.

Responsibilities

• Work with operating teams to identify, quantify and execute business improvement initiatives that deliver quantifiable business impacts in a sustainable manner.
• Perform Validation analysis
• Perform field studies and data driven analyses to prioritize areas of focus and measure key performance metrics and benefits.
• Leverage continuous improvement frameworks to identify and implement key initiatives that will support the operations mandate to enhance efficiencies and reduced losses to drive our business competitiveness.
• Leveraging technical expertise, technology and data analytics to identify, map and analyze production processes to remove waste and improve efficiency.
