Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or chemistry with an anticipated graduation date of December 2026 or May 2027.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to lead projects.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, reach, ascend or descend stairs, and walk for extended periods of time in an office or manufacturing setting or outdoors, including areas where conditions may include odors, varying temperatures, humidity, and moderate levels of noise.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the facility and or job
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safety use power hoist, pallet transport trucks, powered forklifts, and banding machines and or company vehicles.
  • Close vision and hand eye coordination required to efficiently and safely perform job.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with test method development and execution is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own Your Project: Take responsibility for a technical project focused on understanding and optimizing water treatment formulations.
  • Experiment & Analyze: Design and execute experiments, evaluate formulations, and interpret results using statistical tools and Designed Experiments methodologies.
  • Collaborate Broadly: Work alongside chemists, engineers, and professionals across Quality, Sales, Operations, and more.
  • Learn the Business: Gain insight into product and process development, quality standards, and product performance metrics.
  • Network & Grow: Build relationships across Hawkins through mentorship and networking opportunities.
