About The Position

Our facilities are housed in one million square feet of engineering, assembly, operations, and distribution space across seven facilities. Position Summary As a Technical Service Specialist, you will provide accurate and efficient technical support to customers for all field product issues. While most of the job will be to answer customer phone calls and emails to provide technical support questions, you may travel to customer locations to troubleshoot in person.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent required
  • Technical customer support experience
  • Hands on engine repair experience, to include working with electrical, mechanical, and/or fuel systems required
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Engine knowledge, including internal combustion operation, diesel engine operation, failure analysis, assembly/disassembly, and troubleshooting
  • Electrical knowledge, including theory and operation, testing methods, and troubleshooting
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem solving and follow-up skills
  • Ability to collaborate within all levels of the organization
  • Ability to communicate in English effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in automotive technology or a related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide product support by responding to customer requests via phone, email, website, and occasionally in-person
  • Notify internal departments of emerging and trending field issues
  • Administer warranty requests received from the customer, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), and internal departments
  • Troubleshoot in service engines at customer locations. Field locations may be in North America or outside North America
  • Analyze warranty requests and make adjudications/judgments on claims
  • Minimize all warranty costs
  • Receive and analyze parts returned for field warranty claims
  • Support technical publications with authoring and validation of technical documents
  • Repair engines that are returned from the field or that are damaged by production
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
  • Review and analyze returned engines
