About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Technical Project Manager (TPM) with a strong technical background in Big Data technologies, specifically Hadoop, to lead and manage IT projects from initiation to closure. The ideal candidate will serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that requirements are thoroughly gathered, clearly documented, and accurately implemented.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in IT Project Management.
  • Proven experience in interacting with business users to gather and document requirements.
  • Strong technical background in Big Data with hands-on understanding of Hadoop ecosystem.
  • Familiarity with data processing, ETL pipelines, and large-scale distributed data systems.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, or equivalent certification.
  • Prior experience as a Data Engineer or Hadoop Developer is a strong plus.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms ( Azure HDInsight and GCP Dataproc).
  • Understanding of data governance, data quality, and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end project lifecycle: planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, scope, risks, and budget.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (development, QA, DevOps, business, etc.).
  • Manage project resources and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document project requirements.
  • Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications.
  • Facilitate requirement review sessions and obtain sign-offs from all relevant parties.
  • Maintain traceability of requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide guidance and oversight on Hadoop-based solutions and architecture.
  • Work closely with data engineers and architects to ensure technical feasibility of solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage Hadoop ecosystem components (e.g., HDFS, Hive, Pig, Spark, HBase) for business needs.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between business and technical teams.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project progress, risks, and mitigation plans.
  • Prepare and present project status reports, roadmaps, and post-implementation reviews.
