CSG is organized by core customer-facing lines of business to manage and grow programs within NASA, NOAA, and the NNSA, while extending our capabilities to other civilian federal government agencies fully integrated within Aerospace rules, regulations, processes, values, and behaviors. The Strategic and Programmatic Assessments (SPA) Division of the Civil Systems Group (CSG) conducts independent cost, schedule, and technical assessments along with strategic studies to support NASA and other civil customers. Our work helps shape agency-level strategic decision-making for future programs and projects. We’re seeking a highly skilled Technical Project Manager (Project Management Specialist II) to work closely with management and engineering staff. In this role, you will administer data collection, manage and maintain the DISCOE (Data Integration and Standardization for Center of Excellence) database, and support the overall utilization of vital program and mission data. The selected candidate will be required to work full-time on-site in El Segundo or Pasadena, CA, Chantilly, VA, or Houston, TX.

Requirements

  • Associates degree or Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Business Information Systems, or related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • 3 or more years of relevant experience with Associate's degree, 1 or more years of relevant experience with Bachelor’s degree.
  • 3 or more years of experience working with data repositories.
  • Proven experience in Windows file systems and server administration.
  • Proven ability to make critical decisions quickly and effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues rapidly; strong proficiency in Excel and other relevant tools.
  • Must work well in team environments with strong interpersonal skills and dependability.
  • Highly detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and excellent record-keeping skills.
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and providing clear procedural instructions.
  • This position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government.
  • U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, or Business Information Systems from an accredited institution.
  • Familiarity with configuration control, permission administration, and security protocols in a shared data repository environment.
  • Experience managing large-scale data repositories, including folder structures, archival procedures, and documented change management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the SPA‐owned DISCOE database by overseeing and updating it with full configuration control, posting raw data, and communicating updates to the user community.
  • Establish and maintain secure user access, perform regular configuration audits, and ensure all policies and protocols are followed.
  • Gather and consolidate program/mission data (technical, cost, schedule, etc.), control repository access, and protect sensitive information to support programmatic and technical assessments.
  • Collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, react quickly to evolving requirements and schedules, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Embrace evolving protocols and new technologies to continually enhance the repository administration process.
  • Ensure adherence to established guidelines and best practices for data security, configuration control, and data retention, while fostering a culture of accountability.
