We are passionate, innovative, lifelong learners, and creative thinkers working to develop culturally authentic language learning products for K-12 schools and universities. As the Technical Product Owner, you will prioritize and deliver our internal activity and assessment tools, including VHL Central’s IGC and games. You will partner with stakeholders to set priorities, manage the product backlog, and ensure business, user, and technical needs are met. Serving as the primary liaison, you will work closely with engineering, UX, and content/design, to clarify intent, remove constraints, and guide day-to-day decisions while balancing near-term execution with long-term platform goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of experience in a Technical Product Owner or Manager or similar role specifically working with EdTech or educational publishing content creation tooling and design
  • Effective project management skills and experience with cross-functional stakeholders including engineering, UX, and content teams to translate user needs and editorial intent into clear, feasible, and high-quality product solutions
  • Well-developed product strategy ownership skills and multi quarter roadmaps for complex digital platforms, content authoring, or learning technology environments
  • Experience effectively leading Agile/Scrum teams strategically driving workflow transformation and change management, particularly moving teams toward digital first tools and processes
  • Advanced understanding of and experience developing content authoring tooling for EdTech landscape, and market demands in K–12 and/or higher education sectors
  • Strong proficiency in Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) and Figma, Miro, and Lucid for wireframing, prototyping, and cross-functional brainstorming
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace for digital product planning, documentation, stakeholder communication, and project tracking

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with VHL products
  • Experience using Jira and Figma, highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Own the product strategy and backlog for Digital Authoring Workflow tools and content experiences, ensuring work is well-defined, prioritized, and feasible
  • Translate business and user needs into technical requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria that guide delivery
  • Make day-to-day product decisions to keep development moving, balancing near-term execution with the product vision, roadmap, and technical strategy
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and partners to support digital product development and delivery
  • Drive continuous improvement in tools, workflows, and delivery practices to improve quality, speed, and operational efficiency
  • Partner with engineering, UX, and content/design to deliver intuitive experiences; define and track KPIs, and share insights with leadership to shape the future direction
