As a technical product manager sr alliances & partnerships, you will own the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of key platform capabilities that power partner‑facing and operational experiences across Starbucks. You will collaborate closely with engineering, architecture, business stakeholders, and external partners to define requirements, drive technical alignment, and deliver scalable, secure solutions. In this role, you will steward platform health, support incident resolution, and identify opportunities to leverage AI and automation to improve efficiency and quality. You will influence cross‑functional teams, translate insights into actionable product outcomes, and ensure our technology investments support both near-term needs and long-term enterprise strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to use analytics and optimization tools to inform product planning and prioritization (5 years)
  • Demonstrated ability to work with design and engineering to deliver customer facing features (5 years)
  • Hands on experience in developing roadmaps, priorities, features, story outlines, writing user stories, refining product backlogs, and coordinating/prioritizing conflicting requirements in a fast-paced, changing environment with variety of stakeholders (5 years)
  • Industry experience in a technology environment with a record of successfully delivering complex products (7+ years)
  • Experience managing SaaS platform capabilities with a focus on stability, performance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement (5 years)
  • Experience applying AI and automation within enterprise products, from identifying use cases to defining requirements and measuring outcomes

  • Experience and understanding of the Salesforce Platform & architecture, data models, commerce out of the box features and capabilities (3 years)

Responsibilities

  • Set Product Strategy & Vision
  • Define product vision, roadmap, and success metrics aligned to business and platform strategy.
  • Translate customer, partner, and operational insights into clear requirements and prioritized backlogs.
  • Balance feature delivery with technical debt, platform health, and long‑term scalability.
  • Oversee Execution & Delivery
  • Lead backlog grooming, intake, estimation, sprint planning, and release readiness.
  • Create high‑quality user stories, acceptance criteria, and UAT plans.
  • Partner with engineering and QA to ensure quality gates, automation coverage, and predictable releases.
  • Own The Technical Product
  • Participate in solution design discussions and ensure alignment with platform standards and architecture.
  • Understand system dependencies, integration patterns, and technical constraints across the ecosystem.
  • Champion reusable components, secure design patterns, and scalable approaches.
  • Establish Platform Stewardship & Operations
  • Monitor platform performance, telemetry, and incident trends to guide prioritization.
  • Partner with support, infrastructure, and security to maintain stability, compliance, and operational excellence.
  • Evaluate vendor capabilities and roadmap impacts on product strategy.
  • Champion AI‑Enabled Product Innovation
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities to apply AI and automation to improve partner experience and operational efficiency.
  • Incorporate responsible AI practices into requirements, design, and measurement.
  • Collaborate with engineering/data teams on AI‑powered capabilities (e.g., intelligent routing, predictive insights, generative documentation/testing).
  • Achieve Cross‑Functional Alignment
  • Facilitate alignment across business stakeholders, engineering, architecture, and operations.
  • Communicate product vision, roadmap progress, and release outcomes with clarity and consistency.
  • Influence decision‑making through data, storytelling, and structured tradeoff discussions.
  • Lead Production Support Partnership
  • Support engineering during high‑severity incidents and translate RCA findings into roadmap actions.
  • Prioritize platform enhancements and technical debt based on operational data and system health.

  • If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above.
  • For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
