About The Position

PURPOSE OF POSITION: Manufactures and transports blood and blood components from collections obtained at all establishment fixed and mobile sites; stores and maintains finished products in establishment inventories following all Houchin Community Blood Bank (HCBB) policies, procedures and ensure quality systems essentials are followed. Essential Job Functions: Manufacturing: Inspects and prepares blood and blood components according to established procedures Transport blood and blood products according to established procedures Documents activities in the computer system and/or downtime paperwork Re-manufactures appropriate finished products to new product according to established procedures Storage: Maintains inventory devices and contents within acceptable limits Maintains inventory according to attributes: unprocessed/processed temperature rang product name ABO/Rh biohazard separation Documents temperature data Performs in-house product retrieval as indicated Quality Assurance: Reports variances/errors to supervisor or manager General: Demonstrate complete understanding of all established policies and procedures within the applicable department as outlined Be courteous, conscientious and professional when interacting with internal and external customers Ensure all equipment is operational and properly used to minimize the cost of repair and maintenance Ensure work areas are clean, well-stocked and organized at all times Attend and participant in staff meeting and trainings Demonstrate dependability and punctuality Maintain a professional appearance Compiles with all safety procedures, cGMP, personnel practices and confidentiality policies

Requirements

Basic keyboarding
Customer service
High School diploma or equivalent
Valid California Driver’s License
Excellent oral and written communication skills (able to convey and receive verbal and written information in a clear manner while being sensitive to the audience addressed)
Working knowledge of computer systems and applications
Ability to organize tasks efficiently and accurately
Self-motivated with the ability to work in a team setting
Shift flexibility to work night and weekend shifts
Ability to adapt to regulatory and industry changes
Ability to follow instructions, reason and make appropriate judgements
Ability to lift, carry and pull up to 45 pounds
Work in air-conditioned lab style building
Be in and out of air-conditioned company vehicle making deliveries, etc
Ability to stand, bend, and sit for long periods of time
