Job Summary The Technical Manager, Above Grade Wall Products, is a key role in a new growth business for Siplast. This position plays a key role in collaboratively coordinating the details associated with new product development, third-party testing, field trials, marketing, implementation, and ongoing technical support for the Siplast above-grade wall product line. This position will report to the Siplast Building Enclosure Business Director.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Required or Associate’s Degree (AA) with at least five years relevant professional experience Required or H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) with professional certification and at least ten years relevant professional experience Required
  • Comprehensive overall knowledge of above-grade wall air and water management technology including flashings, substrate materials, and membrane technology, and other related areas.
  • Possess a fundamental knowledge of building codes as applicable to the entire building enclosure

  • Competent ability with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc), and G-Suite.
  • Functional knowledge of AutoCAD, Sketchup, Bluebeam, and Adobe Suite and competent with hand drafting and sketching building enclosure details.
  • Solid communication skills and flexibility – both verbal and written - for dealing with a variety of customer types.
  • Effective presentation skills to various audiences, such as internal business teams, external designers/consultants, and installing contractors.
  • Proven follow-up and problem resolution abilities, including the ability to gather facts, weigh information, and make sound business decisions.
  • A team player approach to problem-solving enabling cross-functional team members to meet overall business goals.
  • Resourcefulness to work independently, including confidence, aggressiveness, tenacity, and resilience to meet business objectives.
  • Ability to drive car and travel without assistance
  • DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, architecture, or similar construction-related field.
  • 5 to 10 years prior experience providing technical support for above-grade wall product manufacturers for commercial or industrial applications.
  • Ability to have and maintain a credit card for business-related expenses

Responsibilities

  • Above-grade wall applications: apply expertise to manage external resources and leverage Siplst internal resources to create and maintain the following technical support documentation: Product installation guidelines and details Architectural specifications Product technical datasheets, Product and system warranties Product application and field observation training Integrate new product support documentation with existing Siplast processes and departments Continuing education learning modules
  • Support Siplast Sales, Inside Technical, R&D, and Marketing: Provide Sales & Marketing support (marketing collateral, sales tools, trade show data, tech forums, brand messaging input, technical bulletins, web content, educational materials, packaging, etc.) Technical presentations for plant tours, internal sales meetings, and for customers regarding technical application topics. Work closely with Siplast R&D for internal product development, application evaluations, and third-party testing including assisting with the prioritization and logistics to meet business goals. Training as needed for other Inside Tech, Field Sales, and Feld Technical personnel (product information, application, etc.). Assist with the review of customer specifications and details for Siplast basis of design projects and provide approvals, recommendations, and guidelines as appropriate and according to company requirements. Investigate product complaints and/or failures as needed or directed.
  • Miscellaneous Responsibilities: Work closely with all departments within the company (Marketing, Customer Service, Human Resources, Accounting, MIS, etc.) to achieve company objectives, responding to questions and requests in a timely manner. Maintain applicable industry association relationships through memberships, and serving on committees (ABAA, US Green Building Council, IIBEC, etc) Other duties and special projects as assigned by the Building Enclosure Business Director.
