Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in materials engineering, system integration, hardware validation, materials qualification, failure analysis, or product validation for hardware systems, or technical program management.
  • Proven track record of managing complex hardware validation programs from concept to launch.
  • Strong technical understanding of hardware systems, materials & mechanical engineering, validation methodologies, and test automation.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Define validation milestones, deliverables, material qualification and timelines for each product development phase (EVT, DVT, PVT, MP).
  • Develop detailed validation schedules and resource plans.
  • Develop detailed material evaluation plans, characterization schedules, and resource plans for testing, analysis, qualification, and long-term reliability assessment.
  • Coordinate with XFN partners (engineering, QA, manufacturing, etc.) to define fixture scope, technical requirements, acceptance criteria, integration dependencies, and readiness plans.
  • Oversee day to day execution of fixture build, installation, integration, qualification, and validation activities to support material and mechanical testing, test readiness.
  • Lead material selection and qualification for metals, polymers, adhesives, coatings, composites, and other hardware materials based on mechanical, thermal, chemical, electrical, reliability, and manufacturability requirements.
  • Ensure test plans, procedures, and test cases are in place and reviewed.
  • Track progress against validation schedules and escalate blockers.
  • Drive triage and resolution of validation issues and defects.
  • Coordinate with XFN teams to ensure timely root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Maintain clear documentation of issues, status, and resolutions.
  • Identify, track, and communicate risks related to validation and product readiness.
  • Develop and execute mitigation plans for critical risks.
  • Provide regular status updates to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Summarize validation results, material test data, open issues, and risk status in clear, actionable reports.
  • Analyze validation workflows and identify opportunities for efficiency and quality improvements. Review supplier material specifications, certificates, and process changes, and define material acceptance criteria, control plans, and technical recommendations

  • Own end to end project execution for validation fixtures, including schedule, timeline, procurement coordination, supplier deliverables, staffing dependencies, and readiness tracking across design, build, delivery, integration, and deployment
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with XFN partners (hardware, software, manufacturing, quality, etc.).
  • Drive alignment on validation strategy, requirements, and success criteria across teams.
  • Contribute to long-term validation strategy and roadmap for future products.
  • Anticipate future validation needs based on technology trends and product evolution.
  • Ensure thorough documentation of validation processes, lessons learned, and technical findings.
  • Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning within the validation and XFN teams.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers and program managers.
  • Help build a high-performing validation team through hiring, training, and coaching.
