About The Position

TIGER Drylac is seeking an experienced Technical Improvement Engineer – North America. This role is responsible for the technical advancements and efficiency improvements for all North America. The successful candidate will lead teams, implement preventive strategies, and collaborate with production operations, safety, and engineering teams to advance efficient manufacturing projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Engineering or chemical engineering degree
  • LEAN experience
  • 3+ years of process improvement and project management with mechanical or electrical manufacturing-related experience
  • Knowledge of industrial equipment (extruders, mills, mixers)
  • Experience with SAP or maintenance management systems
  • Knowledge of Siemens and/or Alan Bradley operating systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of 5S, root cause analysis, Shanin, standard work, waste reduction, flow pull, value stream, TPM
  • Process improvement/continuous improvement knowledge
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, ISO systems, and OSHA standards
  • English (required)

Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage standard work optimizations including facilitating training efforts through production floor leadership
  • Liaison with cross-functional teams across Production to assist with the implementation of lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Audit and evaluate lean manufacturing initiative effectiveness
  • Promote and reinforce lean manufacturing
  • Make recommendations on process improvements/continuous improvement
  • Implement changes in process design
  • Identify and help implement production efficiency and reliability improvement opportunities
  • Manage multiple projects and update leadership on project progress on a weekly basis
  • Stay abreast of lean principles and best practices outside of the organization through external training and development opportunities
  • Provide ongoing learning & development opportunities for production employees and supervisors/team leads on lean processes
  • Liaison with TDU and TCA Systems and Mechanical Engineers
  • Key input to FEMA, 5-why, fish bone, and Shanin problem solving initiatives
  • Coordinate system improvement needs for Metallics NA operations
  • Key Metallics technical support resource
  • Keep informed of new manufacturing technologies and innovations
  • Provide assistance to maintenance and production teams to evaluate and trouble shoot mechanical and system problems
  • Develop improved production methods designs and automations
  • Own development and design of new machinery ensuring safety compliance
  • Creating and controlling layout of factory floor to ensure accurate documentation
  • Assist with training and developing staff with increase technical knowledge
  • Provide timely communication
  • Assist Factory Manager plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the operations of the production department
  • Determine adequacy of personnel, equipment, and technologies used for operations
  • Able to Plan Do Study Act for Progressive Change
  • Develops, implements, and validates operating procedures and processes for new equipment
  • Capable of Maintaining Records of Progress/Failures and Next Steps to Successful Completion
  • One to justify reason of change with proper Return on Investment
  • Provides training/presentations on process and project tasks
  • Develop strategy for standard work implementation and on-going management
  • Assist with the implementation of Lean manufacturing procedures
