About The Position

Loch Harbour Group, Inc. is seeking a Technical Editor, Supervisory II to lead and oversee editorial operations supporting technical publications, reports, and strategic communications within a federal program environment. This role requires experience creating, editing, and reviewing complex technical materials while ensuring compliance with Department of Defense publication standards. The selected candidate will supervise editorial workflows, provide guidance to authors, and ensure all publications meet quality, formatting, and submission requirements. This position requires full-time onsite support in San Diego, CA and an active Secret clearance at time of hire.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3 years of professional experience creating, editing, and reviewing technical materials
  • Familiarity with DoD technical publication standards
  • Active Secret Security Clearance (required at time of hire)
  • Ability to work onsite in San Diego, CA

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee editorial support for technical publications, reports, strategic communications, and workforce-facing articles
  • Review and edit technical documents to ensure clarity, accuracy, consistency, and compliance with applicable standards
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for authors, guiding document preparation, formatting, and submission requirements
  • Ensure compliance with Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) submission requirements and assist with publication processing through appropriate systems
  • Supervise and coordinate editorial workflows to ensure quality and timely delivery
  • Provide training and guidance to authors on technical writing standards and publication requirements
  • Manage and maintain Technical Editor content pages within Knowledge Management platforms
  • Develop and maintain editorial guidelines, templates, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to standardize publication practices
  • Support preparation of strategic communication materials and executive-level documentation
  • Provide status updates and reporting to Government leadership on publication metrics and editorial activities
