This position reports to the Store Technology Manager. Provides support to the Store Technology Refresh Team and is a technical liaison to the Field Services Department. Principal Duties and Responsibilities - Primary responsibilities listed in order of importance Finances/Budgeting • Understand inventory and depreciated book values for various locations, items, and projects. • Understand budget and financial impacts of proper account coding for inventory ordering and movement. • Generate budget and forecast vs actual reporting including variance analytics for review by executive leadership. • This requires pulling and reviewing detailed data from multiple sources and understanding the driving forces behind variances. • Drive the monthly forecasting process in conjunction with business owners to provide advanced management the most up to date financial projections. Technical Responsibilities • Technical liaison for Vendors and Internal Business Partners in relation to Store Hardware • Maintains an expert working level of knowledge for the in-store network systems, components, and the associated equipment affecting store operation. This includes but is not limited to routers, switches, registers, register peripherals, pc’s, wireless equipment, and cabling. • Demonstrates ability to express technical issues effectively to all audiences, both verbally and in writing • Identifies and investigates potential in-store system failure for the purpose of developing new policies and procedures. • Participates in and coordinates research with others in the planning and evaluation of projects for the purpose of sharing information and eliminating redundancy. • Onboards external project vendors and assists with developing installation/configuration manuals. • Collaborates with IS departments for activities that require specialized system programming. • Facilitates technical training sessions to introduce, clarify, and support in-store systems projects. • Continually modifies processes and procedures for the Field Services team for daily troubleshooting. • Supports other functional areas of the IS department. Asset Management • Support equipment data accuracy for all 16,000+ stores by continuously updating based on store openings/closings, technology refreshes, renovations or other scopes affecting store inventory. • Analyze inventory levels on a weekly basis to ensure accurate distribution, and proper usage. • Update IT Store Refresh 3-year roadmap for leadership on Semi-Annual basis. • Contribute to special projects as assigned; provide asset reports to support other IT processes as requested. • Maintain familiarity with store hardware and item lifecycles for proper decision making. • Project management for Store Hardware Lifecycle including timelines, TCO and ad hoc analysis. Vendor Governance • Serve as Dollar Tree’s primary point of contact with providers of store related technology products & services. • Lead business reviews with key vendor partners; hold providers accountable to meeting contractual SLAs. • Monitor and challenge change orders for out-of-scope work. • Recommend selection of vendors after reviewing and analyzing vendor qualifications through a thorough RFP Process. Other Responsibilities • Ensure proper key performance indicators and metrics are compiled, reviewed, and adjusted as needed; monitor trends, identify areas in need of remediation, and take appropriate actions to address. • Support the daily operations of the Field Services Department by responding to user requests for ad hoc project & support analyses. • Maintain integrity and security of the systems with easily accessible and auditable recordkeeping. • Responsible for template management, business process review, simplification, and documentation • Backup on billing for maintenance services that do not require a PO. • Continually perform or assist with financially impacting analyses for identifying and analyzing profit improvement opportunities.
