About The Position

As a Technical Communicator, you’ll play a critical role in connecting field and shop technicians with Caterpillar engineering resources to solve complex technical challenges. The Technical Communicator serves as a key technical resource for service operations across the organization.

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in an equipment repair environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude (diesel, heavy equipment, or related)
• Experience with failure analysis
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working with customers and internal stakeholders

Nice To Haves

• Working knowledge of DBS and SIS systems
• Experience interacting with OEM engineering teams
• Associate’s Degree in Diesel Technology or related technical field
• Bachelor’s Degree in Ag Mechanization or similar field

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical support to shop and field service teams
• Communicate directly with Caterpillar engineers via the DSN network to resolve complex issues
• Perform detailed failure analysis on equipment and components
• Assist shop and field personnel with warranty repair process
• Collaborate with district Caterpillar representatives to troubleshoot and resolve issues
• Maintain strong communication with internal teams and external partners
• Support workload coverage across the team as needed
