UnitedHealthcare (UHC) Clinical Services maintains and operates the Policy Integration Management System (PIMS), which serves as the source of truth for UHC’s clinical requirements. An increasing number of UHC systems and processes—including strategic initiatives such as Benefits Digitization, Intelligent Acceleration, and AHIP—leverage these critical data assets to ensure appropriate services are available to UHC members. These services are driven by medical policies that adhere to industry standards and clinical guidelines. We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Business Analyst with strong data and analytical expertise to support Enterprise Clinical Data initiatives, including reporting, analytics, and data platform capabilities. You will be responsible for managing and supporting data, reporting, and analytics initiatives. This role serves as a critical bridge between business and technology, partnering closely with clinical stakeholders, data engineers, and analytics teams to translate business needs into scalable, reliable data solutions. This role plays a critical part in enabling the effective use of clinical data to support business operations and improve healthcare outcomes. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in SQL database development
  • 4+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or similar role, facilitating and documenting requirements gathered from both business and IT counterparts
  • Experience with performance tuning and optimization
  • Solid understanding of database design principles and best practices

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of relational databases (Postgres, SQL server / Oracle)
  • Advance SQL knowledge in queries, Joins, views, functions etc.
  • Expertise in designing and developing Data warehouse, Data Models and schema (Star, Snowflake)
  • Ability to build scalable Data pipelines using Python or similar...
  • Experience working with Cloud Technologies (Azure, AWS)
  • Able to collaborate and communicate with Business Stakeholders
  • Support deployment planning, change readiness, and communication activities to ensure smooth implementation
  • Identify trends, patterns, and insights to support strategic decision making and healthcare system impact
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define metrics, KPIs, and reporting standards
