About The Position

The ideal candidate for this position will possess excellent customer service skills and serve as a technical resource to a large and growing binding and brokerage team. Successful applicants will work with the in-house underwriter/assistant to request maintain suspense system and follow- up for documents, review underwriting information for completing file records related to endorsements, binding, compliance and other areas.

Requirements

  • High School graduate required
  • Basic knowledge of Commercial Lines E&S products, along with some Personal Lines E&S products.
  • Previous work experience in the fields of insurance underwriting, customer service, with a successful track record
  • Positive attitude and enjoy helping others through frequent phone and email communication.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of adaptability to meet the needs of various situations.
  • Strong organization skills, with a high level of detail orientation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel and various rating portals.
  • Technical Assistant experience or three years of general insurance experience
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience

Nice To Haves

  • One year of wholesale insurance experience preferred.
  • College courses preferred.
  • Interest or knowledge with Personal lines support.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with State Surplus Lines affidavit/ compliance documentation and follow up.
  • Provide and/or assist with documentation management related to audits, binders/invoicing, and endorsements through managing all company correspondence in a timely manner.
  • Respond promptly to all requests from brokerage team, underwriters, retailers, or managers regarding account servicing issues.
  • Develop a professional rapport with clients and underwriters to enhance new and ongoing business relationships.
  • Follow departmental procedures with accuracy, efficiency, and meeting compliance standards.
  • Act as liaison between clients and the underwriter to manage all account documentation.
  • Initiate cancellation, rescission, and non-renewal notices according to statutory and contractual requirements.
  • Maintain suspense system and follow-up for receipt of policies, endorsements, inspections reports, correspondence, surplus lines documents, etc. from outside sources.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the insurance industry through attendance of virtual workshops, seminars, literature reviews and/or formal continuing education.
  • Other duties as assigned.
