About The Position

The CDC Foundation seeks a full-time Technical Advisor for Maternal and Infant Health to support jurisdictional partners in the implementation of the Centers for Disease and Control (CDC) Levels of Care Assessment Tool (LOCATe)® tool. This role will provide technical assistance (TA), develop resources to facilitate adoption, and ensure effective use of LOCATe® findings. The ideal candidate will combine strong communication skills with experience supporting states and jurisdictions, and a solid understanding of health care systems and delivery of care. Atlanta-based candidates are preferred. Remote work may be considered, though in-person team meetings in Atlanta, GA may be required. Relocation expenses are not provided. The starting salary range is $80,000-$95,000 and will be based on experience and qualifications. The CDC Foundation offers an attractive benefits package. This is a full-time grant funded position through September 30, 2026.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in public health, Health administration, public administration, or other related field from an accredited college or university required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of public health or related professional experience required.
  • Familiarity with maternal and child health systems, health care delivery, and quality improvement frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience providing technical assistance (TA) and facilitating training sessions, workshops, or stakeholder meetings with states, jurisdictions, or similar partners.
  • Proven ability to develop toolkits, guides, templates, and other technical resources to support program implementation.
  • Strong analytical and data synthesis skills, with the ability to translate findings into actionable recommendations and evidence-based guidance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and producing comprehensive reports.
  • Ability to critically review program materials and reports to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with project goals.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage diverse partners, encourage meaningful participation, and work effectively across teams and with federal agencies (e.g., CDC).
  • Superior organizational and project management abilities, with attention to detail and the capacity to act independently while tracking, summarizing, and reporting activities.
  • Detail-oriented approach with demonstrated success as a team player and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Support jurisdictional partners in preparing for LOCATe® implementation, including initial introductions to the process and ongoing TA.
  • Identify, design, and develop tools to support LOCATe® implementation and utilization of findings (e.g., toolkits, guides, definitions lists, FAQs, reporting tools, templates).
  • Provide clear, consistent technical assistance throughout the implementation process to ensure alignment and effectiveness.
  • Support internal documentation needs, ensuring accurate tracking of activities, resources, and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to promote adoption and sustainability of LOCATe® findings.
  • Review and provide written feedback on project deliverables to maintain quality standards and enhance outcomes.
  • Lead or support the development of written materials that may include reports, presentations, manuscripts, and other outputs.
  • Represent the CDC Foundation and the project team at meetings and partnership events as needed.
  • Participate in and/or lead special projects and other duties as assigned.
