About the job The Technical Account Manager (TAM) is part of the UnitedHealth Group (UHG) account sales team and jointly owns responsibility with the sales team to grow the business. The TAM serves as the primary technical liaison between UnitedHealth Group and internal SAS teams and is responsible for maximizing UHG’s success with SAS software. This role is critical for ensuring technical alignment across UHG’s diverse business units and for supporting strategic initiatives such as platform modernization, AI enablement, and cloud migration. The TAM advises both client and sales teams on technical matters to drive revenue, increase profit margin, and ensure the highest levels of client satisfaction. Knowledgeable on the healthcare industry, data management, analytics, security and compliance, and cloud technology. Showcases ability to align client challenges and user needs to solutions and advise project teams throughout ongoing service engagements.

Requirements

  • Strong familiarity with UnitedHealth Group’s internal dynamics and priorities via either working directly with or for the organization.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in technical account management, solution delivery, or technical presales experience.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare IT environments including cloud infrastructure, data management, analytics, and compliance.
  • Knowledge of sales cycle and how to progress opportunities.
  • Experience leading cloud transformations, including a strong understanding of enterprise architecture, governance, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Travel as needed up to 25%.
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical contact between the Account Executives, Systems Engineers, and other services available on all sales activity.
  • Establish and build broad relationships with customer, identify strategic opportunities, bringing the necessary domain and SAS expertise to assist with the development of new sales initiatives as well as existing SAS implementations.
  • Leverage knowledge of domain, industry, and SAS solutions to increase SAS’s credibility primarily in sales situations.
  • Establish and maintain a strategic partnership with the client.
  • Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization’s secure software development goals.
  • Refer to GCF and include if security is listed.
