About The Position

Position Summary Inspect product using established specifications that ensure quality. Packages finished product according to customer requirements and established specifications. Assist with performing activities and meeting established specifications assigned from Tech III curriculum. Primary Responsibilities / Essential Functions Tech II Responsibilities · Review Quality Standards: Follow shop floor paper specifications, special instructions, and verify drawing/overlays is accurate to determine customer specified part is followed. Verify part specifications with Manufacturing Supervisor, as needed. · Product Quality: Physically and manually inspect product and dimensional characteristics while following SOP’s and Work Instructions regarding non-conformances. · Packaging Materials: Review order requirements and expected product output per shift or assignment. Gather necessary materials, boxes, bags, and other supplies per specification. · Label Creation: Review shop floor paper and specifications. Input order information into computer and print the required labels. Verify accuracy of label content. · Wrap and Pack: Review order specifications and materials to wrap and pack product in compliance with order. · Inspection Completion: When applicable, collect Quality Assurance samples, process customer peel reports, and part change request forms. · Non-Conformance Product: Notify Converter Technician and/or Working Lead of defects or non-conformance immediately. Obtain Manufacturing Supervisor and/or Quality Assurance approval for in-line product non-conformities. · Off-line Rework: Occasionally perform internal or customer rework of finished product in accordance with rework instruction provided by QA. · Perform all necessary 5S and housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and organized work area. · Work the standard shift. May be required to work additional hours, when needed. · Perform training function to new or existing team members. · Assist with break relief coverage for various workstations, as needed. · Participate in Continuous Improvement opportunities. Tech II Converting Responsibilities All responsibilities of Inspector, as well as, assisting functions of Converter Tech are listed below: · Verify part specification, perform measurement of finished pouches with calibrated ruler and records data points for Converter Technicians · Record Quality Management (QM) Inspection lot results for Process Inspections (IP), for Converter Technicians. · Collect pouch samples to perform peel, burst and creep tests and record into Pouch Data Collection (PDC) for Converter Technicians. · Assist Converter Technicians with die removal and cleaning, setting jig, and mounting material rolls onto machine · Cut and clean rubber · Set eye-block, slit blades and conveyor · Monitor a job start-up and make final adjustments · High degree of attention to details, exceptional trouble shooting skills, good mathematical aptitude, reading a measurement ruler, and effective communication skills. · Monitor machine as break relief or for someone who leaves the room for a short period of time. Identify running adjustments to maintain specifications. Visually able to inspect finished product and manually check dimensional characteristics, peels, and registration. · Perform required PM’s · Operate tabletop rewind workstation. · Assist in Pack rooms, as needed. · Good safety record.

Requirements

  • High school Diploma or GED
  • Minimum experience required.
  • Reads and follows detailed instructions.
  • High degree of attention to detail.
  • Possesses basic mathematical aptitude.
  • Accurately reads measuring rule.
  • Possesses effective communication skills.
  • May be required to stand for long periods of time while performing duties.
  • Must be able to work safely with materials and equipment.
  • The ability to read and understand documents and drawings.
  • The ability to follow directions or instruction.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
