Team Read - Teen Reader
About The Position
Love reading? Want a summer job that actually makes a difference? Join the Allen County Public Library as a Team Read Teen Reader this June and July! This daytime, Monday–Friday summer job lets you work with elementary-age kids, helping them build reading skills through books and fun activities. You'll be part of a supportive team, meet new people, and give back to your community-all while earning $10.25 per hour . Allen County Public Library is a place for learning, creativity, and connection. We're proud to serve our community and create a space where everyone feels welcome-and Teen Readers are a big part of that mission. Requirements
- Are 16–19 years old
- Can read confidently in English
- Enjoy working with kids
- Are friendly, patient, and enthusiastic
- Want a meaningful summer job (no weekends!)
Responsibilities
- Read with kids and help them grow their literacy skills
- Play and lead fun activities
- Be a positive role model and cheer on young readers
- Work with library staff in a welcoming, inclusive environment
