Job Overview The Greenhouse Team Member is responsible for the care, organization, and management of all plant material staged at our facility prior to installation. This role ensures plant health, accurate inventory, and efficient preparation of materials for upcoming jobs, while also providing a high level of customer service in a small retail capacity. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and has a strong appreciation for plant care and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Ability to work outdoors and in varied weather conditions
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move plant material (up to 50 lbs regularly)

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in horticulture, greenhouse operations, landscaping, or customer service preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Unload incoming plant deliveries safely and efficiently
  • Verify shipments against purchase orders and report any discrepancies
  • Accurately label, track, and organize plant material within the greenhouse and yard
  • Move plant material as needed to optimize space, accessibility, and plant health
  • Water plants regularly based on species-specific needs
  • Weed containers and surrounding areas to maintain a clean and organized environment
  • Monitor plant health and identify signs of stress, disease, or pests
  • Perform basic pest management and escalate concerns when necessary
  • Maintain clean, orderly, and safe greenhouse and staging areas
  • Pull and stage plant material for upcoming jobs using Nursery Request Forms
  • Verify plant quantities and quality prior to staging for installation
  • Communicate any plant shortages, damage, or quality concerns to supervisors
  • Assist with loading plant material for installation crews as needed
  • Greet and assist retail customers in a friendly and professional manner
  • Answer basic customer questions and provide guidance on plant selection and care
  • Support retail area organization, presentation, and cleanliness
  • Support team operations to ensure efficiency and readiness for daily production
  • Follow all company safety procedures and best practices
  • Other duties as assigned
