Your day as a Greenhouse Coordinator As the Greenhouse Coordinator at Mid-Ohio Food Collective, you will play a vital role in overseeing daily operations of our hydroponic systems and controlled environment spaces. You will manage all aspects of crop production, including seeding, transplanting, pest management, and harvest planning, ensuring optimal growing conditions that maximize yields year-round. By utilizing advanced systems and technology, you will monitor pH levels, environmental controls, and irrigation, while also supporting innovative projects like vertical farming and specialty crop trials. Additionally, you will lead educational workshops for diverse community groups, imparting knowledge on hydroponics, food literacy, and crop planning. Your collaborative leadership will guide volunteers and interns, while you work with various teams to enhance overall efficiency and uphold the highest standards of food safety. What you need to be successful To excel as the Greenhouse Coordinator at Mid-Ohio Food Collective, candidates must possess a strong educational background with at least a High School Diploma or GED, along with a minimum of two years of experience in greenhouse or controlled environment agriculture. A solid understanding of hydroponic systems, nutrient management, and plant health is essential, along with a background in horticulture, plant science, or sustainable agriculture. Familiarity with nonprofit or community food systems is preferred, as is experience with IoT monitoring systems and environmental controls. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to analyze data effectively to inform decision-making. Comfort in teaching and leading workshops is crucial, alongside strong communication skills to provide clear instruction. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • 2+ years of experience in greenhouse or controlled environment agriculture.
  • Experience working with hydroponic systems and nutrient management.

  • Comfort teaching and leading workshops.
  • Strong systems thinker.
  • Ability to clearly and confidently communicate and provide instruction.
