About The Position

The purpose of this position is to work at the plant-side level and be responsible for the day-to-day activities related to Shipping and Receiving functions. This position has the responsibility to train and mentor hourly staff. The Team Leader disseminates information from management to associates. This role ensures that all incoming materials are received, verified, and staged efficiently to meet production demands and maintain inventory accuracy. Team Lead- Receiving requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Forklift experience
  • 5-years related work experience
  • Must have good attendance
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Ability to promote and carry out the "Astemo Mission, Vision and Values".
  • Proven ability to make sound business decisions, exercise good judgment, and be highly motivated
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, high level of accuracy
  • Confers with and prepares reports for upper management and possibly other Astemo companies
  • Maintains clean and orderly work environment
  • Provides strong leadership to subordinate personnel
  • Interacts with various levels of associates
  • Maintains knowledge of all processes, procedures, and equipment
  • Coordinates and recommends cost savings and efficiency ideas for the facility
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of organization needed
  • Basic experience required in MSWord, Excel, and the Internet
  • Standing, walking, and bending for the duration of the work day
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly, 35 pounds occasionally & push, pull, tug up to 50 pounds
  • Visual ability to work accurately with detailed information and a computer screen
  • Full Motor Skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead Warehouse Operations (on off shifts) for proper inventory levels and FIFO using receiving experience and ERP system knowledge.
  • Communicate receiving issues to Supervisor. Support counting returnable containers. Research discrepancies in the receiving department with Supervisor (referencing 3-way match PO, Receipt & Invoice).
  • Work with cross functional team members (for example, Shipping 2nd & 3rd shift) to support associate concerns and business transactions. Support improvement plans to countermeasure problems or concerns.
