About The Position

This position is responsible for overseeing and leading the activities of the Raw Receiving team in meeting the shift goals on the delivery of raw product which includes unloading trucks, monitoring inventory levels of raw product, operating sizing equipment, proper blending of raw product and documenting as needed for record keeping in order to meet customer expectations. The individual in this position will be required to fully understand the purpose and operation of the Raw Receiving area along with having to make decisions based on sound judgment when a situation dictates.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1+ years related experience and/or training

Nice To Haves

  • One year of food processing experience or relevant college degree.
  • Successful completion of the Potato Division Assessment Center and Training/Orientation Program.
  • Must be able to perform the duties as outlined in the Essential Functions.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures alertness and constant awareness of the safe operation of moving equipment and other potential safety hazards in a production plant.
  • Demonstrates initiative, creativity, self-motivation, leadership and coaching skills along with having the ability to maintain awareness of current operating conditions in order to constructively cause action.
  • Ensures necessary level of communication is maintained with the appropriate personnel.
  • Must become qualified within 45 working days of employment in this position.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in the areas of: Raw Receiving team functions, product specifications, and Raw Receiving team customer expectation.
  • Utilizes computer and computer programs to communicate, document, and track shift information and ensures that all documents and reports are completed accurately in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensures attendance and participation in training activities appropriate to the position and to incorporate acquired skills and knowledge.
  • May assist in training other personnel.
  • Maintains Company standards for safety, quality, food safety, sanitation and GMPs.
  • Works within safety rules and regulations in actively avoiding injury to self and others.
  • Ensures proper food safety sanitation and cleaning procedures of all packaging equipment and systems.
  • Ensures self-compliance with Company policies and plant procedures, and the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Maintains necessary level of communication with team members and other support groups and does so in a participative management style conducive with operational goals.
  • Ensures that additional accountabilities required by management are handled in a manner necessary to meet operational standards.
