Job Summary: The Team Lead for Shipping and Receiving, confirms and records the receipt of shipments, prepares items for shipping, and loads and unloads trucks. Responsible for managing the inter-departmental transport of materials. Leads personnel and oversees most day-to-day operations of the Shipping and Receiving department.

  • High School diploma
  • 3-5 years previous experience in shipping, logistics, or other related fields.
  • 2 years’ experience leading a team.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Shipping and Receiving area and team members. Communicate effectively with the Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Assemble orders and prepare goods for shipment.
  • Receives, unpacks, inspects, and stores incoming materials and supplies.
  • Uses shipping records to verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments and orders.
  • Documents damages and discrepancies for future reimbursement and reconciliation.
  • Maintain good warehouse procedures; All areas are clean, neat, and organized.
  • Communicate effectively, clearly, and concisely, both orally and in writing with supervisors, team members and other departments.
  • Provide direction and delegate assignments to team members, including daily priority setting.
  • Communicate any issues or problems that affect productivity to supervisor.
  • Maintain safety practices.
  • Attend daily schedule meeting with team.
  • Train new employees entering the department.
  • Unload and load trucks following the processes in place.
  • Receive products from vendors. Verify and sign-off that all product is received.
  • WIP products to Finished Goods.
  • Wrap product to customer specifications.
  • Schedule pickups for small-parcel, domestic, and international shipments.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement events.
  • Attend all scheduled meetings.
  • Invoice shipped customer orders at the end of each day.
