Team Lead - Modern Workplace
About The Position
As a Team Lead - Modern Workplace you will lead a team responsible for the secure, reliable, and scalable delivery of Microsoft 365 collaboration and productivity platforms. You will oversee engineering and administration of Microsoft Exchange Online (email and messaging services), Microsoft Teams, Microsoft SharePoint Online, and Power Automate. The Supervisor ensures continuous improvement across collaboration workloads, drives governance and platform capability, partners with architects and adoption teams to translate strategy into execution, and supports global business operations through high‑quality modern workplace engineering. You will report to the Sr. Manager – User Experience & Collaboration and be located at Cranberry Township, PA. This is a hybrid position. 3 days a week in office and 2 remote.
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of engineering/administration experience in Microsoft Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, or M365 collaboration platforms.
- 1+ years of technical leadership or supervisory experience.
- Background in M365 governance, collaboration architecture, and automation.
- Proficiency administering Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, and Power Automate.
- Proficiency with PowerShell, Graph API, and M365 automation tools
Responsibilities
- Lead, develop engineers supporting Microsoft Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, and Power Automate.
- Manage team workload, priorities, performance expectations, and engineering execution.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, end‑user focus, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the engineering and administration of Exchange Online, including mail flow, transport rules, mailbox policies, shared mailboxes, and delegated administration.
- Ensure reliable global email delivery, security configuration, service health monitoring, and incident response.
- Partner with Cybersecurity on security baselines, phishing protections, and compliance requirements related to messaging.
- Support discovery and similar inquiries, using Microsoft Scope.
- Manage Teams architecture, policies, lifecycle governance, app permissions, compliance settings, and global configurations.
- Support Teams functionality including channels, chats, meetings, voice integrations (as applicable), and collaboration security controls.
- Oversee SharePoint Online administration, including site architecture, permissions, information management, and enterprise patterns/standards.
- Lead governance for Power Automate environments, connectors, solutions, and automation standards.
- Support development best practices, modernization programs, and scalable solution patterns.
- Enforce governance across all Modern Workplace platforms, including policies, configuration standards, lifecycle management, and security baselines.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, enterprise risk controls, retention policies, sensitivity labels, audit readiness, and compliance frameworks.
- Maintain documentation, standards, runbooks, and operating procedures.
- Promote automation using PowerShell, Graph API, and M365 administration tools.
- Improve platform reliability through monitoring, alerting, proactive maintenance, and optimization routines.
- Develop standardized, repeatable operational processes across email, Teams, SharePoint, and Power Automate.
