About The Position

Ensures all policies and practices meet regulatory standards to ensure safety of patient and team. Collaborates with leadership to ensure adequate staffing through selection, onboarding and development of team members. Identifies performance issues, participates in developmental plans, disciplinary action, as well as counseling and termination. Provides coaching and mentoring to team members as a group or on an individual level. Collaborates with leadership in budget preparation by reviewing clinical and statistical data; prepares and submits reports which reflect unit operations, utilization of team members and productivity metric. Monitors and implements cost effective strategies (e.g., inventory, supplies, staffing to volume, etc.) Collaborates with associates and physicians to improve quality outcomes thru site or system implementation strategies; focus on continual improvement and ongoing strategies to improve clinical outcomes. Coordinate education programs to enhance associate knowledge and skills; ensures annual clinical competency completion. Actively participates in hospital committees and projects; leads departmental shared governance quality and safety improvement strategies. Serves as back up invasive team member and ensures charges posted within 24 hours Directs all patient care assignments, ensures safety, efficiency and flow thru collaboration with physicians and ancillary units.

Requirements

  • Licensure: Nurse, Registered (RN) BSN or Cath/IR Rad Technologist, ARRT.
  • ACLS Specialty Certification within 2 years.
  • 3-5 years' experience in Invasive Cardiology and Interventional Radiology.
  • Solid skill set and high performer within the Cathlab/IR arena
  • Ability to effectively communicate and multi task
  • Exceptional relationship and team building skill set
  • Transformational leadership, leads by example, works well with providers to coordinate care
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to work within a rapid changing environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal / external customers.

  • May be exposed to hazardous materials and life-threatening diseases.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance.
  • For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available.
  • Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
