Interventional Radiology (IR) technologist is responsible for providing patient services using invasive cardiovascular technology under the direction of a provider, leading to the diagnosis and treatment of congenital and acquired organ and vascular disease. Responsible for performing routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic technical procedures at a level that does not require constant supervision of technical detail. IR technologists assist in the performance of a variety of procedures requiring independent judgment, good knowledge of anatomy, and high technical knowledge of equipment. The IR technologist has a constant awareness of infection control standards, the importance of sterility and an acute awareness of patient care protocols. The IR technologist will be responsible for representing the Organization to the IR patient in both the outpatient and inpatient setting.
